The most fatal don’ts of an SEO.

Everybody knows what the best SEO tools are; which are the best SEO approaches to getting your name in the first hits of a search engine; everybody has heard or read about the advantages of having a good SEO strategy. But does anybody know the worst don’ts in the SEO world? Have you seen the worst mistakes that a SEO manager can make while at their job? Or better yet, do you know exactly what to avoid when implementing a SEO strategy?
We give you some of the worst don’ts in the SEO world. It is up to you to avoid them, but these are proven approaches that simply don’t work at all.

Don’t let someone else choose the keywords. This is as fatal as it comes. Does anybody apart from you know the content of your website? It could be a difficult task and sometimes time consuming. But take your time to do it, you don’t want people telling you what your key search word should be. You know the content, you should come up with the words. Or , if you have a SEO company working for you, please check the list of words. After that, you as a writer or owner of the website can choose which words fit your content and which ones will be useful.

Don’t kill the balance between users and search engines. Yes, the idea is to get traffic to your website. And yes, you need to address the engines to achieve this. But don’t forget about your audiences. If you focus only on the search engines, you will end up losing touch and communication with your target. But if you only focus on your audience, which is a bit more fun and easy to do, you will lose track of what a SEO strategy really means. Keep balance and try to strike the right spot to include both and generate traffic.
Don’t allow your SEO Company to do all the work. It is very common to hire a company and think that they can do all the work by themselves. In the end, that is what you are paying for? Isn’t it? Wrong. It is similar to leaving your car for a paint job and not telling them what you want. They can come up with really nice ideas on how to paint your car, but they will chose for you and the consequences can be disastrous. Maybe your paint crew decides to use a color that is illegal or stolen or forbidden in certain parts of your country, in the end, you pay the price of not keeping track of your strategy. The same happens with SEO companies. They could be using high risk tactics and you will only find out when legal actions are taken against you.
Don’t make your website difficult to browse. Of course, we want to have graphics, interactive games, colors, text etc. but when it comes to the real world, people don’t like complicated things. KISS (keep it simple stupid) is the key strategy so users and audience enjoy the trip within your site and not get lost or die trying. You want people to see and remember your content, not to simply pass and say it was a nice site but I didn’t have time to understand it.
Don’t use links from anywhere and anybody. We like to have our website linked to other websites that could attract traffic. But do it with style and a good sense of strategy. Trading links with everybody makes your site content poor. If people don’t arrive because of your content but because another page “sent you there” it becomes superficial and your content will not receive the attention it deserves. Make it interesting, make people arrive to your site because the information is interesting.
Don’t leave the SEO strategy for the last minute. Think about it as you are creating and designing your website. As a matter a fact, think about it before you start creating it. First, it is cost effective. It won’t hurt you or cost you a cent to think about your content and keywords or key phrases. You will know where to take your information to before you even start writing. You can hire writers and give them clear guidelines for their writing style. Second. And this is true, everybody is doing it and your competitors as well. Think about it in terms of competition. If you want to be ahead of the rest, you should be thinking ahead about it.
