The art of positioning a blog: An SEO must for you
One of the great wonders of the Internet is the fact that the monopoly of the mass media is over. Thanks to YouTube channels, social networks and, of course, blogs, it is now possible for information (of any nature) to flow freely (or, at least, to a great extent.) The task of blogging is a great achievement if we consider the difficulties of publishing in previous times, and this is a reason to improve each day the content and scope of these information tools, especially since the big problem that a blogger faces is not censorship, or lack of content, but positioning. Anyone can start a blog; the problem is to optimize its position in search engines (SEO.) If this is your problem, you have reached the right post.
The art of positioning a blog is not a simple or immediate task. Keep that in mind. The first thing to know is that SEO positioning is a job of long-term results. You just can’t pretend to implement different techniques or strategies to position your blog in Google and become a hit the next morning on the first search pages.
Now, as important as your content are the keywords that lead a user to your blog. The choice of your keywords must be meticulous, as well as being a way leading to your site; your keywords define the very purpose of your blog. To choose these keywords, keep in mind what you offer, to whom, where, why, and for what. If your keywords are too common or generic, your search engine optimization will be slower. This is why you need long tail keywords: Those complementary keywords that, despite not defining the core of the blog’s goal, are easier for positioning in Google.

For example, a sports store may use some — generic — keywords for web positioning: “Albuquerque sports store.” But such keywords may be widely used. So, you need to be more specific and use long tail keywords like “Montgomery Heights Sports Store,” and you’ll have more visibility. Look for SEO tools like SEMrush or the Google keyword planner, and work on it.
On the other hand, it is of vital importance that you identify your audience. Before starting to write or upload multimedia content, it is important to define clear objectives such as identifying the audience you are going to target, the subject matter, and the format you will use to transmit your information (video, images, text, audio, etc.) Think like someone looking for the information you offer: How can you reach your own blog, and what advantages can you get from reading your content instead of the other links you find on the first search pages?
Do not neglect the quality of the titles (both of your content and your blog itself.) Remember that visitors come thanks to a good title, just as the food goes through the eyes. No matter how good your texts are, your images, your videos, etc., without a good title (and no keywords in your titles,) people will not feel motivated to visit your blog. So, never settle for the first title idea that pops in your mind. Improve every idea at least five times. Seriously: You should bleed here.
What about the content? Well although a good headline is a key to grab the attention of the public, a creative and attention-grabbing title won’t be much advantageous if your content is mediocre, uninteresting, or even copied from some other blog. If people do not procrastinate because of your awesome content, you are wasting your time. Good content is one of the most relevant factors for SEO. In fact, it is one of the items that Google reviews when indexing and classifying a page. Do not try to position yourself with cheap Black Hat tricks: Make good content. That is the starting point.
As for the design of the blog, what is generally recommended is that it is visually pleasing, and, at the same time, simple in terms of navigation. Do your best to make a visit from a mobile device easy and enjoyable.
Have a good handle on the comments section and try to answer every time they write. It is important to moderate comments to avoid spam or inappropriate expressions.
Finally, try to connect your blog with content from other quality sources, and always include them. Thou shall not miss the links: This is a law. If other blogs, websites or channels include links that take a visitor to your own blog, then you have achieved a difficult challenge (which, by the way, is only achieved after a lot of hard work.)
Always remember to keep an eye out for Google updates. Keep in mind that SEO is a constant and demanding task, so be patient! In many cases, it takes years of hard work to reach the positions of your favorite blogs and websites, so start today and be perseverant.
Good luck!
