The 6 don’ts of Digital Marketing you should never forget
For the past decade, Digital Marketing has become a very important matter for companies and their Marketing departments. The existence of Digital Marketing within a company means that brands need to pay extra attention to their users and prospects from a new and different perspective. Companies have evolved from the “Brick and mortar” stores to having additional presence in the online world, where the scope is a lot bigger than what traditional companies were used to several years ago. There are still some companies that are just starting to learn about the digital world and the adaptation it needs to have on their marketing strategies, and how these will have to be adjusted in order to be able to respond to this new world for them. Digital Marketing can actually be taken slowly but it definitely needs to have a guide or a direction, provided by an expert. This will save company’s owners and CEO’s a lot of headaches, time and money. Once a company decides to go digital it cannot go back. It actually shouldn’t. So the best thing they can do is do their very best in this matter and have a strong, strategic and planned digital presence. There are of course many things that need to be handled carefully because if not, there are always risks. Creating a digital presence with a digital marketing strategy is creating at the same time a digital reputation. And that is something any company or brand will definitely want to take care of. There are a few things that companies should keep in mind, especially the things that should not be done. So here is the list of the six “Don’ts” in Digital Marketing that brands should never forget.

DON’T Number 1:
Don’t create accounts on all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, among other) if your company or brand doesn’t have the capacity or time to manage all profiles efficiently and correctly. Community Management is one of the most important jobs of Digital Marketing and it cannot be managed as a personal profile. If social media profiles are not well taken care of, the results that it can generate for your company will affect your sales and reputation directly because of the negative impact it caused among your followers who are probably your customers.

DON’T Number 2:
Don’t underestimate your Call to Action. Your call to action is one of the ways to grow in sales. A Call to Action is the confirmation that tells you someone is interested in your product or service. This means you always have to pay attention to it because it can happen any time, and when that happens you have to be prepared for answering the right way, otherwise it means you have lost a prospect.
DON’T Number 3:
Don’t become a Spam supplier. Be as consistent as you can be, but don’t attack your contact list and clients continuously with information that you cannot keep track of and that the only thing that will cause around your users and readers is the feeling of desperation coming from you and your tremendous need of attention. Being consistent is reminding your market you are there and whenever they decide to reach you, you will have many great things to offer them, without seeming desperate.
DON’T Number 4:
Don’t get confused between creating a lot of content and creating good content. Quantity is not what is important. It is quality what you really want. Whenever you think about generating content or posting something on your website or your other digital channels, make sure the information has all the potential it needs to generate a positive impact out there.

DON’T Number 5:
Don’t forget to build your own database. Take advantage of every campaign or online activity you perform, by making it a way to gather contact information that will be very valuable for your future decisions and future expansion.
DON’T Number 6:
Don’t use colors that can generate a negative reaction in people. Whether it is for your logo, for a product, an ad, a website or any other digital tool, colors are the definition of your company’s personality. Try to avoid loud colors, or colors that are not friendly to the eyes because of their brightness that can even make them repulsive.
