Whenever you use a search engine, there are a few things you need to keep in mind in order pop-up first in the search results. Your ranking position and visibility are always based on certain criteria determined by mathematical equations called algorithms that sort information and then rank it based on its popularity and reputation. For that reason, search engines have two main tasks: 1. They should crawl and create an index (just like they were the biggest library on earth), and 2. They should give search users a ranked list of the websites they’ve picked as the most relevant based on the used search term.

Reputation defender knows that your search results usually affect how people perceive you. Generally, search engines assume that the more popular a site, page, document, or any type of digital content, the more valuable the information it contains should be. Algorithms used for search results often involve many different types of ingredients known as ranking factors. These ingredients are what matters most if you want search users to easily find you online. In this article, you can find a list of some of the most relevant ingredients you need to be aware of in order to have a higher ranking and improve your SEO.

1 . Words

Search engines look for every word on the web, when someone searches for a specific word, the search engines locate every website that contains that word. In order to make your site easy to find, you need to choose a set of keywords that have more chances to rank better when someone looks for a specific type of content. This means you will need to investigate about the type of words that are more commonly related to the subject you are writing about. For instance, if you have a website about clothing, you may want to talk about the different categories you are selling–dresses, pants, shirts and so on- instead of focusing on describing their color, size or shape. That way, when someone googles the word “dresses” it will be more likely for it to find your website.

2. Titles

As we said, each search engine uses a different algorithm to find and rank the information related to your search term. As a general rule, each page online has an official Meta-title for its content, this title is shown on the website code — which is the one the algorithm reads but you usually don’t. Search engines pay a lot of attention to titles since the often summarize the website content. For this reason, you should too pay attention to the set of words you pick for your title.

Titles must be an accurate and concise description of a page’s content. They should not be too long since Google usually displays the first 50–60 characters of a title tag. If you keep your titles under 55 characters, they have at least a 95% of being displayed properly. Keep in mind that Titles in search results can be rewritten to match your brand or the user query, among other considerations.

3. Links

High-quality link-building has become very important for today’s SEO. This process of acquiring hyperlinks from other websites to your own, allows people to navigate between pages on the internet. If the pages you are referring from your own have a positive reputation, this will help your site to be found easily since the search engine algorithm is more likely to show well-connected sites that can guide people to well-ranked pages.

4. Reputation

Having a positive reputation will for sure give you highest ratings. Reputation research is important when giving highest ratings. Sites with engaging content and numerous quality links, are most like to have a better reputation, therefore, they have more chances to be shown by search engines.

If by any chance you haven’t built a reputation, maybe because you aren’t the type of website where people usually leave reviews about, or perhaps because you are still the new kid in town, search engine scan give still a high rating based on all the things listed above in this article. So, don’t rush yourself to produce a fake reputation that can be rather harmful to your company instead of helping you grow.

A negative reputation is enough reason to give a page a low-quality rating. You can get a negative reputation by using fraudulent and malicious content related to financial fraud reports, extremely negative reviews and negative reviews from watchdog sites. Web sites with bad reputations will never be shown by search engines.
